Pieter Bastiaan Holthuysen was born in Holland and completed courses in Art and Photography and qualified as a draughtsman in Holland.
In 1956 he decided to immigrate, to then known as Rhodesia and very soon became head photographer in the department of the Surveyor Generals office in Harare. His main hobby and interest has always been wildlife photography and art, with the idea of pursuing this full time. He took early retirement in 1980 and fulfilled his dream of becoming a full time artist.
Subsequently he has moved to South Africa with his wife Dieuwie. He is now enjoying the new landscape sceneries as well as the seascapes available to him. God willing Pieter will be inspired with some lovely new works for the local artists to enjoy, and he will have much success. Pieter works from his lovely new home in Port Alfred.
