Dieuwie Holthuysen was born in Holland and immigrated to Rhodesia (now known as Zimbabwe) in 1957. She showed an early potential in her school art works, winning many competitions in her Native Holland. She started her full time career in 1980. She and her husband Piet set up their own business from their home.
Of late Dieuwie and her husband have moved to take up residence in South Africa in the Eastern Cape, and is now painting Seascapes and Cape Sceneries. God willing this will be successful and bring pleasure to many people.
She paints from her lovely new home in Port Alfred.
Over the past 30 years Dieuwie has done more and more wildlife pastels, oils and watercolors, her paintings receiving wide acclaim wherever she has exhibited, and enjoys her field trips with her husband. She has traveled widely throughout Southern Africa, Namibia, Kenya, Zambia and Botswana.
